Aqua Nueva
London, UK
Capturing the essence of contemporary Spanish dining - we carried out a total refurbishment of the venue with a brief from the proprietors to give the restaurant and bar a whole new look and bring in a new energy. The interior has been completely stripped out and refurbished.
We have taken our inspiration for the new design from Spanish culture, with bullfighting being one of the prevalent influences. Keynotes of the interior design include black and white mosaics, fretcut pierced leather panels with a lacework pattern, and a colour scheme incorporating rich burgundy, gold, white and blacks to elegantly suggest colours associated with Spain.
We have changed everything internally, giving the venue a brand new look and feel – new flooring, lighting, seating, new building services and a new kitchen with metal framed internal windows allowing diners to see the food being prepared.
Specially commissioned ornate metalwork decorative screens reminiscent of the gates of Spanish villas has been created to provide a beautiful backdrop to the restaurant’s wine stores and the new bespoke banquette seating.”
A brand new central feature bar has also been installed, over which hangs an amazing twisted metal gold leaf covered bespoke chandelier, featuring a design based on the movement of the horns of Spanish bulls. All of the remaining light fittings installed have also been specially designed by the Robert Angell Design International, as has the seating and almost all of the other interior decorative features, fixtures and fittings.
