Belmond Caruso

Belmond Hotel Caruso is a luxurious, Mediterranean paradise nestled in the hills overlooking the Amalfi Coast, a recognised world heritage site.

Amalfi is world famous for its breath taking coast line, dotted with grand villas, ancient cathedrals, terraced vineyards, chocolate box towns & cliff-side lemon groves. The region is known to have some of Italy’s finest hotels, Belmond Hotel Caruso is no exception. The building itself was a palace dating back to the 11th century. With its prime views & luscious, rich gardens it’s easy to see how it was fit for kings & queens, a genuine place to relax & enjoy the Belmond Italian hospitality.

We set out to grasp all of the authenticity, character & soul of the area, realising this in a truly unique design. Working closely with local craftsmen we will learn about the nature & traditions of the area in order to create an interior full of patina & original detail. The tones & textures are to be mirrored from the outside, in. This design aims not to compete with, but to fit seamlessly into the landscape & its history.

The suite is an oasis of natural calm, a neutral backdrop adorned with bespoke mosaics & fresco details.

Carved, ornate timber and metal joinery details adds depth & originality whilst classically inspired pieces will give the rooms that timeless appeal. Bringing the nature inside is key to this concept.

The four poster bed takes centre stage in the scheme, with hand beaten wrought iron frames and layered on linen drapes we create a feeling of ultimate luxury. A focal fireplace to the rooms will add further intimacy and comfort.

The rooms are soft in colour and tone with curves & organic textures which mirror the scheme’s surroundings. The interior truly reflects and compliments the tones & energy of a summer’s evening on the Amalfi coast.
